Platon proudly presents: Frank and the turkey toothpaste - A story about information management.

Here is Frank. Frank is trapped in a cave in ancient Greece. He only sees the shadow plays of his guards - an imitated version of reality, clouding his judgment and leading to fatal decisions.

Modern information management is not that different. Let’s say Frank was a modern time CEO for a toothpaste production company. It’s a tough job. He has huge amounts of data to base his decisions on – which - like in the cave - results in clouded judgment, fatal business decisions, and eventually what we refer to as - death-by-data.

The inability to turn the data into useful information leaves Frank alone in the dark. With poor and misinterpreted information to base his decisions on, Frank ends up making the terribly unwise decision of launching a stuffed turkey flavored toothpaste. Obviously NOT a succes.

' But imagine if Frank knew how to see through the shadow plays of his data! By treating his information as a strategic asset, he would gain greater insight. Insight to analyze his options and support his decisions with facts and data. Then he’d be able to give the right information, to the right people at the right time. And he’d accurately pinpoint threats, identify business opportunities and innovate tons of new and successful toothpaste flavors.
